DYNO DAY IV  March 2004

I am really sorry I was not able to make it.  Tiger Blue was deadlined with a bad lifter and so much work to do!  Thanks to Darrell Mountjoy and Bill Graf we have some photos.  Turnout was good with lots of learning and power improvement coming out of the loud noise.  Jere Teepen was there start to finish, before and after,  organizing a super CAT Event and providing the table of numbers and names below.  I did hear from Michael Marcus and learned that his Tiger's low numbers below were at very limited rpm because of a problem with his Tiger's engine which was noted by the operator of the Dyno.

I think the big power numbers from the Tripple racer were done on racing gas which is the necessary diet of high compression.  ADU 180B's 289 was built with compression suitable for unleaded premium pump gas of 91 octane.  There must be other differences but higher compression is responsible for most of the power differential between the two race cars.

All figures below are measured at the wheels.  Manual transmission rear drive cars lose about 15% of crank HP on the trip back through the gears.
