Photo Page:  Big Bear City, CA Fun Run   August 14, 1999

August is a great month to visit Big Bear City.  Mountain air, moderate days and cool nites.  Speaking of cool! the Fun Run also brings a 500 car hot rod, classic and antique car show covering most of downtown.  This year 3 Sunbeams entered including Rick and Bonnie Mueller's 67 Mk1A "Tiger Blue" and Mark Theroux's white "Brutus".  Brutus is running in a new Ford MotorSport crate 302.  Bob Shields of Los Alamitos brought his fabulous restoration also in white.  This car was a rough Alpine conversion before Bob started the long process of improvement and custom features.  If you get a chance to see this car, take a good look.  Detail work is high quality and Bob did some things which others may ultimately copy.  One example is the cross member.  Not just modified but swedish from a volvo.  Bob also increased the engine setback two inches more than a Tiger.

Darrell and Sharon Mountjoy of CAT took home a popular vote award in their Cobra.
