Tiger Tales Excerpts
Update 01/03/2008Monthly issues of Tiger Tales are published about six times per year. At least once a year, to cover a major regional (Tigers United) or international (SUNI) we publish a full color issue.
Tiger Tales volunteer co-editors are Mike Michels and Herb Michel. To divide the workload, Herb handles the newsletter production as well as the regular “departments” such as the classifieds and calendar of events. Mike edits feature stories, event reports and photos. When you send news for consideration, e-mail is preferred.
This publication belongs to all CAT members and depends on input from you. We need your photos, stories, tech tips, before-and-after photos, story ideas, event reports, calendar items, classified ads, suggestions, complaints and kudos. Since we can’t be everywhere, photos are the most important. So please take your camera along wherever your Tiger goes and send us your shots.

From May 2005 Tiger TalesWith excitement and anticipation, Saturday April 16 dawned with a crisp and clear morning. The Seal Beach Car Show has traditionally been a mainstay on the Tiger world calendar. This year we had seven Tigers entered in the show. Sadly however, three were no shows. One of the no shows was off the road undergoing an engine transplant, another owner had a conflict with another responsibility, and the third was merely AWOL. The four that did meet their schedule were: Bill Graf, Paul Paretti, Rick Mueller, and Bob Shields (along with his son Kyle and his Sebring kit car).
So the stage was set for a fun filled day for those on hand when there was a bit of an alteration to the parking assignments by a chapter of the Thunderbird club. A Seal Beach business owner had invited some of his T-bird buddies to park in his business parking lot and decided it would be nice to have ALL of the T-birds park in the designated spots in front of his business, displacing all of the Tigers. Nice. The event organizers said Mr. Snothead T-bird is a board member for the car show! More nice.
After the parking was “sorted” (everyone eventually found a spot) Rick Mueller and Bill Graf began wheel and dealing with other car owners and eventually were able to get three of the four Tigers together for display. What a pain. But I have been told that after the excitement was over the show settled in to its normal relaxing rhythm.
But what to do for next year? That is up to each individual to determine. Initially there was talk of a Tiger boycott, but once the irritation waned, thoughts of the past years’ pleasures of the show took hold. See you there next year?
