Every Tigers United is a special combination of old friends and traditions with new acquaintances and surprises. Lake Tahoe contributed a beautiful back drop for the events while the mountain weather was ideal for open motoring. Super place to enjoy driving your Tiger. The hands on creator of the Shelby American prototype Tiger, George Boskoff was back again and Carroll Shelby himself was on hand to sign autographs and was guest of honor at a special Friday Dinner: "An evening with Carroll Shelby and George Boskoff". In spite of some personal problems which delayed and cast some uncertainty on his appearance, Mr. Shelby was on hand and I believe met expectations of all concerned.
Let me thank the Organizers Nicole Taylor and Patrick King for stepping up and putting in the time and effort necessary for success. Many other volunteers were also needed to make things happen. Ron Willis did Registration and I understand that it was Terry Curry that contacted the Shelby Children's Heart Foundation and secured Shel's attendance. Nothing is impossible.
What about next year?
Sunbeam United National International Four (SUNI IV) is on track for Salt
Lake City, UT area, probable dates July 5 - 8, probable site Park City.
No Tigers United will be held in 2004 (As was the case '89, '94, and '99)
The major Tiger and Sunbeam Clubs nationally do not sponsor major events
which would conflict with SUNI by prior agreement. See the Photo
