Santa was helped by the CHP and CAT on Dec 9th. Eleven Tigers, a '57 Chevy and a few other CAT member's cars and trucks with elves and toys, dolls and games were escorted by the Highway Patrol to the SpeedZone.
The CHP escort cleared the way allowing the other world experience of driving an empty Freeway in the middle of the day. Any drive in a Tiger, however short, requires gasoline and this was proven by your webmaster running short on the Pomona Freeway. No one believed I was just practising the "missing man" formation. Again Bill Graf gets credit for organizing the escort. Testimony to the ideal December weather was that the Sunbeams were all top down!
The CHP collects the toys for distribution to kids who really get a kick out of Santa showing up in a Highway Patrol Cruiser.
