We had a great weekend starting with a Mexican restaurant Friday night. Going up the Tramway to 35 degree temperatures in the mountains filled most of the day Saturday. After a quick wash and shine the three Tigers and 6 people and three dogs (Carrie, Trina and Yoyo left to right in above photo.) headed to the Car Show.
About a hundred cars participated in the "cruise". We got there early enough to park together but too late to be in the best lighted areas. Over 20 Corvettes, many roadsters and rods, some late model "imports", low riders and a rare Jowett Jupiter made a very eclectic group of cars. They had the usual drawings for stuff and had judging and awards for the best cars in attendance. Honors for Best of Show went surprisingly if not totally deservedly to Tiger Blue. Owners Rick (web master) and Bonnie Mueller were aware that their stunning metallic blue Mk1A had won something but when it turned out to be Best of Show? Wow!
Rick's (my) secret strategy for the win was: "Park in the Dark" The luminescent paint and polished aluminum was all the judges could see. And they liked what they saw. No bribes were paid.
The Sages hosted a generous brunch
for us all at Steve's mom's house before we said good bye on Sunday.
Photos thanks to Bill and Maria Graf.
Going to breakfast Saturday A.M.
