289 Upgrades

Hi, I’m after some clarification. After looking at the mind-boggling number of combinations available I am considering fitting the Edelbrock Performer RPM heads (or possibly E Street), intake and camshaft to my Tiger’s 289. I’m hoping to stick with stock rockers. There is a huge amount of information on numerous websites and YouTube regarding this, but some of it is conflicting, enough to give me concerns about compatibility on my engine.

So, has anyone bolted these parts onto their Tiger’s engine, and if so did you need to carry out additional work, and what sort of results did you get?

I should mention that the engine is currently undergoing overhaul so will have a rebuilt bottom end.

When I fitted new alloy heads to my 289 I used a adjustable pushrod to determine the correct length of the new rods. Because I also fitted roller rockers I had to remove the baffles in the covers that meant repositiong the PCV valve.
