What is the original finish on the disc brake splash shields on a MKI? Mine show signs that they were a cad finish but I've been told they should be semi-gloss black.

How about the aluminum portion of the steering rack? All black? Natural? Natural with black overspray?

The aluminum (with TR 7 on the back) was natural, while the center pipe and arms had the same hit & miss black. . . .

Thanks, so this would indicate that the crossmember was painted after the rack was installed.
