GT shock absorbers

While sorting and cleaning bits I have taken off the Tig this year I noticed the Armstrong shocks have GT stamped and GT painted on the housing of the shock, all four. What does it mean..........anyone?

I'm thinking a heavier duty shock (compression/rebound)

I make a habit of cleaning and coating (Kano Labs Weather Pruf) all original parts to go with with the car if ever it is sold.

Mike, Does it look like its stenciled on.. there was a SIVGT being restored down here, original 1 owner car.. had the same on his armstrongs.. there is a pick of it at the SAOCA site.. posted by "moonstone" i can get you the pic if you like. I think these were a factory fitment.. nott sure if they were Gt as in the "export" springs they apparently fitted to some cars.. or just a more "sporting" set?

Indeed, stenciled on they are. They look just like the picture in the link.
