Need a pdf file for exhaust

I bought a stainless steel exhaust from Sunbeam Specialties and asked if they had a pdf on layout of the exhaust parts since each part is a different shape. Rick said he did not have layout pdf. The parts came with stickers on them with their part number, does anyone know how these parts go together? Better than trial and error

Just a cautionary comment: When test fitting Rick's sleeve-type assembly, make sure to wipe down with a light oil. That stainless will grab even at low temps just to frustrate your day.

I have installed only one set. The only parts that can be swapped

are the center pipes, that go through the X member.

Check for the one that fits best on each side.

One would fit good on one side but not the other.

The other would not fit on ether side.

I had to give it a bit of a tweak so it would clear.

You also want to check how the tail pipes fit and tweak the straps

to get the same distance of pipe sticking out the back.

At first it looked hopeless, but after moving one pipe forward

and the other back, they were quite good.

Did you have to shorten any of the pipes ? I fitted the straight down pipe on the same side as the starter motor and the down pipe with the bend in it on the left hand side. All the other pipes need to be fitted.

It is frustrating that the supplier can’t give any helpful answers as to how the parts go together especially when one asks

Here is some inspiration:

( I just noticed this is NOT in the Stock section, a bit Small pipes for Personal/ Mod??? )

Here is a different/other SS system.

Note, the center pipes were moded quite a bit.

Dan,
Thanks for helping out a fellow Tiger enthusiast. However, stainless steel exhaust systems were not stock, so the thread is in the correct forum. Granted, the size looks the same so it is not a (performance) modification, but the change in material would make it a personalized change.
Thanks!
David

Back in 2014 I hauled an original Tiger exhaust system from Ohio to the SUNI in Colorado. I gave it to Dale and I believe it was going to Norm Miller. This was what I would call an NOS system and each side was a one piece unit. Has anyone ever tried the install of something like that?

Originals were probably in the same class as an Abarth exhaust system. Life span was probably short.

More notes for that future PDF:

-When you put a custom exhaust system on a Tiger,

it is a good idea to have the rubber hangers ALL

on the same sides of the body brackets.

This makes for easier removal without having to disassemble

the system.

- Also beware that the pipes go UNDER the rear axle housing,

so you want to make sure there is clearance for the rear axle housing AT full

drupe when servicing the car.

...guess how I figured this one out..... LONG ago ;-(
