Now here's one I haven't seen before...

..."All Steel welded construction air cleaner"... more than 10 available

A lot of work to make something that doesn't look correct ...:(

He's also listing steel shrouds ... not quite correct either

Compare to the real thing from a current auction !!

Well.. if you're not going with an original piece... this is a much more 'true' copy for less money... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sunbeam-Tiger-Air-Cleaner-Reproduction-/350897980738?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3ASunbeam|Model%3ATiger&hash=item51b3264542&vxp=mtr

Personally, I'd rather have my non-stock 'billet' one... less than half the price ( including a K&N filter ) of that 'poor' copy... I have a modified car ( started down that path long before I owned it ) so not so much of an issue for me.

Nice!! Is it 'Billet' or cast?:) What type of bolt is that?

It's CNC'ed from 3/8" plate... and looks like this when you get it ... Relief is 0.080"

Bolt is a flat head socket stainless just run under the buffer for a minute...

I saw the ebay ones a few months back... it is a lot of effort to get it that wrong.

It's almost like they rang the guy who made them and decribed what it looked like down the phone.. then he went off and made it.

I also have DAMN HEAVY! Aluminum Tiger air cleaner bought on e-bay & shipped from U.K. They are quite rough cast but step sand (with block) then polished look very nice. Bidders on first one's paid alot. I waited & was only bidder paid $200.00 U.S.D. plus shipping.I suspect another run very soon.:)

Brian P. retired last year and sold out to Andrew ? They seem to have downsized the operation to common fast moving stocks only . . . . .

Maybe they will sell the molds

I think those were done CNC, not cast, if so, and if they don't want to make any more, and if they'd be willing to sell the program, I could probably make as many as required, assuming their CNC data is compatible with our machines.

Jim Oven in the UK has produced some CNC machined aluminium cleaner housings. Here's a picture of the one I had from him, ignore the overly long threaded shaft a hangover from the previous housing.

The raised areas are polished but unpainted, you can color as desired.

Jim can be contacted by email on: jim.oven@jo-engineeringltd.co.uk
