Hi all getting ready to install the dash letters on my dash, that Pitt40 was kind enough to send me, but I want to make sure I didn't have the metal tab markings originally. I have the metal tabs but not sure if they came on my tiger or if they were on a 66 alpine parts car I once had. Thanks Kevin

Them metal words: Alpine YES, Tiger NO!

or a few more...

Very early in the breed, there may have been a plastic dash or three with the metal tags.
mixed in perhaps?

(adds this to my list of 'quirks'...)

Wood dash Batch No 49 for reference...

Great, I get to (kindly) dispute with gurus on both coasts... This dash was never removed... "Alpine" cubby and Blower tag, and... I freaking need to find the other pictures with other print that was dissimilar.

There's really no hope for me to be proved "correct." Can't talk to the owner anymore.... so its guilty first... ah well... there are definitely some quirks with it.

Jaeger-meister

Sometimes you gotta go with what pleases you...I have dash tags on a MKIA and all matching Jaeger instruments (amp gauge and clock included).

My car was unmolested except for a dealer added rollbar. It sat in a garage since 1971 and the inspection expired in 1972. It had silk screened letters for wipers, lights and panel and a metal tag for blower. My previous 2 Tigers were the same way. That's all I know. I never did research.

Differences...

Blower tab and NO "lights" print under the original dash.

And if anyone has hints to remove the washer pump from the old dash, please advise. Just seems to spin bezel...

pump

Hi Derek, you have to unscrew and remove the knob and then use either a really deep socket or a needle nose pliers to take out the little brass nut that holds the pump to the bezel.

Yep! I was just going to post that! PS it's an odd size for the deep socket... most of mine don't go 'in' far enough to grip the nut
Here's a couple pics...

Thanks guys...

Sigh...thought since the whole assembly was rotating that I couldn't get the plastic job off. Duh. A deep 1/2" happened to work for loosening but must be the nearest metric. For tightening the socket followed by deep pliers worked quite well.

Now I have no more excuses to delay dash to harness connections and install the thing...
