260 Badge Curiosity

I have a early Tiger and recently changed the 260 Badge on the trunk. It looked bad and I wanted it to match the badges on the sides of the car. To my surprise the back of the badge did not match the front. Any ideas?

The 1725 would be an Alpine badge- looks like someone 'fabbed' a Tiger badge out of it.

Yup.. Someones home brew 260 badge from a sv alpine or other post 65 rootes car.

The 260 badges came in a few flavours... Powered by ford 260 sunbeam 260 and alpine 260.. There is also sunbeam v8 on the mkia and mkii

There are peel and stick decals that can be applied over any of the badges. Some of these are thin aluminum that look to be similar to a silk screen with double face tape to secure to the old badge.

I don't buy it guys. It looks like it was made this way. It is one piece molded with nothing added.

Its an original 1725 series badge moulded and with the correct indents on the rear, the front 260 has been added later and is not correct size or font. Also lacks script above.

As for not buying it.... To quote the movie snatch.. " good 'cos I ain't selling it" :-D

A little bit of humor in the morning is always good.

Does anyone have a good picture of a real original badge, always good to be educated and would like to compare to what is on the car.

Yup, you guys were right. I filed the top off and polished it up.
