I have a 1963 289 five-bolt motor. From the numbers and builds dates it looks to be out of a 63 full size Galaxy . It has a F4-B choice of a couple of new carburetors choice of a vacuum or centrifugal advanced stock distributor.
It is now having the valves looked over and some spring work done just to get modernized and away from the flat tappet cam that's in it. It has pop up pistons and the heads are clean and look to have had good flow work done.

My original plan for the motor was to bring it back a bit to a more streetable configuration. " It came with a Holley dominator straight runner manifold and like a 650 marine carburetor. The bottom end appears to have less than 15,000 mi on it and had no sludge whatsoever in the oil pan when it was removed for inspection.

The motor is in Highland and can be built to suit bench tested , or taken as is.

As I recall there's a brand new Holley 450 and I think a 600 sitting in the pile of stuff I accumulated for this build. The F4-B is very nice with no repairs.

It's the perfect stand in for a gone 260 with an LAT manifold. I do have several square bowl Holley's with my hot rod buddy neighbor. He can rebuild them like I can do a Honda motorcycle carb.
