Need a 289 bellhousing for my MKII to replace one that is cracked. P/N is
C5DA 6394A. Thanks.

45 year old aluminum is not a good barrier from a failing clutch or flywheel. Get yourself a new QuickTime scatter shield. Can not be seen unless you are under the car and is worth it weight in peace of mind.

bellhousing

MK II BELLHOUSING

C5DA-6394A ACCORDING TO MUSTANGTEK WEBSITE IS FOR A 6 BOLT BELLHOUSING. I THOUGHT ALL MK IIs were 5 bolt 289 blocks?

I am on the VMF forum and there have been a few mistakes reported from that website (mustangtek) that people have caught. Do your homework whenever you read something on the web...

Sources etc.

MK2 has a wide eared top loader transmission and therefore a 289 6 bolt, our member LRXFE aka Mike Mulvey has a dual pattern bell housing on ePay. There has got to be a pile of them about. PM or email Dan W. or Mike M. If you drop the p/n in a eBay search you get 3 results but your results may vary:D

Bellhousing

Bill- I think i have an extra small block cast iron bellhousing if you want it. Travel about 100 miles north, & you can have it. Bill

Duke is right. For safety sake, buy a blowproof bell. Unless you are going to drive it like a grandma, it's just safer if you like having feet.

My question for Duke is how does this fit both toploader and Tremec? Tremec have a longer input shaft and require a spacer with a standard aluminum or red scattershield.

That I do not know. Will find out once I get the TKO 600 conversion I guess. I cross one bridge at a time.
