289 Hipo Heads

My MK1 has a hipo k-code engine in it and am looking to keep it stock (even though it's not stock to the car). I put this out there on the very off-chance someone has a pair. Casting number on the heads I'm looking for is C5OE-A. Thanks, Michael

No performance advantage to them over stock 289 heads. Add screw in studs to your stock 289 heads and they are essentially the same. For the money you spend on HiPo heads, you can have a much better performing set of aluminum or cast iron aftermarket heads. Just my opinion.

heads

I agree and while your at it have some larger valves installed
and do some port matching

Thanks, guys. Given the prices I have come across for the hipo heads, your advice is sound. I have a pair of 65 non-hipo heads that will probably go on it. Port-matched with larger valves.
