65 Tiger steering wheel

New owner here. I'm looking for a original Tiger steering wheel. Where can I find one, where should I look????

Unless you stumble into a preserved under-priced miracle, you will pay about the same for a quality repro vs an original that needs restoration ($$$). I get our customer's steering wheels restored/modified or built from scratch by Chris Reed in CO. His techniques have greatly improved with experience and our owners are quite satisfied. 2-cents

Also Ken Corbin in the members only section . You need a core Alpine wheel for most as I understand it they do not make from scratch. I just pulled 2 off my Baked Beams in the desert only the bones of a wheel.

They are really big wheels but I have read that some guys make a little smaller version in stock look too.

Here is a shrunk down to 14" that still employs the horn ring without being awkward. Chris also recast the hub in the process.

PS: I understand that Ken is braving the chemo-process. Our hopes are with him.
 
Original diameter

Wood being wood what was the original diameter plus or minus?
Totally plus one on Randy's earlier post, beat up cracked so called original ones sell for way too much.
When I was looking/restoring one there was also much dis information about the black beauty ring being an exotic material. I think its just a plastic piece that often cracks and it's a PITA to repair.

My 2 cores are going to swap meet in 9 days. :D

Diam as issued is a fat 15" . Crowds the knees nicely . . . . .
 
Ok my bad

The thickness of the material. Seen some that have been massaged quite a bit. Maybe ask Pitt if he has sold his yet to measure his original one.
