'66 CA EBAY Tiger

White Tiger

Looks like the white Tiger has the rear LAT wheel flares installed, maybe front LAT flares too. Looks like clean install. Can tell by the extended lower wheel lip on left rear photo. Also the pic of the engine bay shows dual fuse blocks and looks like possibly some lifting body work visible near left head lite above the front left hood stop in same photo of engine compartment. Interior looks clean and dash has some updated warning lamps besides the black out gauge rings. Blacked out lower valence and rockers all around are subject to further inspection. Up close visual inspection would be well worth it. Not bad choice if can can TAC.

What I do

I post a pic or two of what I see only so that a record is established that will last more than 90 day shelf life of eBay auction. I prefer the innocent until proven guilty. What is troublesome is the red car claims the tag has never been moved and that early cars have stainless steel rivets. Well IDK what they are made of but those don't look OG to me.

The white car is possibly a member's car and Rick aka Tootech is seeing it as I type.

I like the flares and widened wheels on the white car. Odd placement of the antenna on the right rear 1/4. Black paint on the lower part could be a good sign and they repaired rust damage? Just a hunch. Either way nice looking car. Hope we get a report on the car from our member.
BTW--whoever buys the white car needs an air cleaner. :)

FWIW on the red car, that seller (jimr231) was the same one that listed the Alpine with Tiger sheetmetal that I ended up buying later (not on ebay). He was actually listing it for someone else who isn't very computer savvy. When I went down there to look at the car I was quite surprised to see his "collection", which includes probably 5 or more MKII's. He was just finishing up a MKII restoration for a customer that looked great, and had just bought the MKII that was featured on "Counting Cars"-- when he saw it on TV he hunted it down and bought it. The same seller also just sold a few high dollar parts-- a tool roll, NOS chrome MKII headlight rims, a NOS MKII owners manual.

I can't vouch for anything, but this certainly isn't a fly-by-night flipper.

"Take a look at at the 2 tire mounts in the trunk."

Probably insecure when it came to flat tires. Maybe he worried that if he got one flat, probably would get another before the first flat tire was fixed. Thus two spare tires.

More like

Fat tire doesn't fit in there now, let's put it where its out of the way.

Curious
A 1966 GT Tiger? No soft top?
I thought this was a 64 only option.
Is this car a members car and is anyone familiar with it?
Thanks
John

the spare tire mount above the tire well is an owner add on since it's not an alpine piece.

Update

No sale at $ 33,322.00 on the white car as I mentioned before Rick aka CAT Tootech saw the car and the seller is listed in the roster. From what I learned he bought it from a big eBay parts seller automotivegold as I recall . Leepear bought a hardtop from him. He had a white wrecked Alpine on several times on eBay as well in August. I talked to the seller only as a potential client for a AC filter housing as he has more than one car, and as a favor for Rick T, who could not contact seller from his not so smart phone:)
