Warren and I have moved 695 threads from GTD to the various tech topics. We have ~ 600 to go. We are not leaving any moved messages on this forum section. Feel free to ping me via PM if you see any wayward threads in the wrong tech section.

Just a little concern here.

I like that we have these specific sections, but now rather than visiting one forum plus parts for sale/wanted, one has to visit 12 different forums. I guess I thought the specific sections were more like archives than every day discussion boards. So someone who isn't interested in say suspension mods, but has good knowledge from past Tiger work, may not bother to visit and see a question in that forum vs the regular main forum.

That is a valid concern but it is just a fact you will have to look in a few more areas to see all of the new threads. It does make subjects on what you are seeking easier to find and a one section for all is too busy for the traffic on this board now.

I personally will look at new threads no matter the section. If technical questions are posted in the GTD area, they will be moved to the appropriate subcategory. This will cause some confusion to the OP to find his thread. It is best to put it in the right area to start with.

Change is hard sometimes. ;)

Seeing all new threads

When you enter the forum, look along the top blue bar, select "New Posts".

I like it. Good thing Warren has broken arm. He can be productive at the computer. And thanks. Lee

Cccchanges….. I like 'em!

Very nicely executed. I appreciate how organized all this info now is.

Thank you, Admin and Elves.

50 pages gone thru

To the finish line. When I recovered Buck's Tiger 101 from the depths of the GTD . I recalled one of the questions I ask many guys "what class do you prefer Bone Stock and with LAT options, Personalized, or Modified. It is my personal opinion that all organization flows from these judged CATegories:D

I'd like to see a 101 type post sticky stuck at the top of stock and the combo personalized modified sub forums, just to help guys not restore twice.

At my first Tigers united , I was encouraged to show the car so I could get its nits picked and a punch list of what was wrong. Most cuz I'm lazy and it would impinge on my drinking and fat chewing to stop and clean the car I declined.

One of the best conversations was that correct lists were not available as they were treated like trade secrets of the pro restorers and Corvette guys have a punch list and why don't we?

Sorry to drift off but after hours of reading others posts I need a little commenting myself, just want to make this forum the best.

1262 threads

Not counting ones moved to Alpines or Others Videos, or deleting old stale for sale and wanted.

Includes reading skimming all individually, moving several clicks and drags of cursor, then deciding trimming possibly renaming adding to correcting titles especially the cute named ones, and yes many of ones I did too.

Lots of GTD left with dead links were deleted roughly 60% off the cuff. Those dead link threads chosen to remain were as they seemed informative despite lack pics. All deleted threads reside where moderators can see only. Some for sale ads left as benchmarks with prices.

Some threads I also key word tagged but most I did not. Any feedback is OK.

Change

I recently heard a good one:

Change, reach out your hand to it before it grabs you by the neck.

Having said that...now I go a looking for a thread ...in a scattered thread pile...:(

Focused or random?

Having more targeted Forums results in more Forums! Downside? Learning to skim for updated posts in the Forums you have interest in.

Tag it home boy's

Guys to make the search work better you can key word tag threads.

Dan, if you don't come back and post more we will change that good looking ,10 years ago pic of ya holding the old headers. :D

The searches go across all forums, just like when you go to email list summary page and search there. The only trouble is from a email list guy's perspective is the question does not get repeated after every reply which makes it easy to stay o/t:rolleyes:

Not sure if all can add tags, after a thread has been submitted but we are working on it.
