86 paint code in a PPG formula

I'm trying to get a match for #86 Forest Green in a modern PPG product and hoping someone might be able to share the formula. Unfortunately, my sample is not matchable by the local paint company's computer.

Mixologists' Nightmare

We've always had trouble with # 86 because of that muddy olive drab that's hidden in the paint. The special light camera will pop out a different code each time. PPG & Delux had codes many years ago, but modern products flat out refuse to behave like 60 year old cellulose enamels.
Have your mix guyzz eyeball it by 'drop testing' and make sure to judge it only in bright daylight. just sayin'

Seems like most of the Rootes colors back then had a kind of muddy tint to the color. I had problems getting my Midnight Blue close. Its not a 100% but close enough for me. Checking the color in good daytime sunlight is very true. Mine changes with the time of day and cloud cover. Of course, here in Arizona, we have no clouds.:D

Great idea! Curious if someone has already done this matching and might be willing to share? I have a sample piece that can be matched but it is pretty rough.

PPG

This is a car painted by Doug @ Tiger Auto. I know of three cars painted using the same formula. If Dougie is lurking out there he may be able to shed light on how close it is to the original shade and possible formula.

After making a dozen calls + emails in the last few weeks, it is surprising how elusive this color code is for a modern paint product.

Google. “Paint ref Sunbeam BRG” and you should see different cross references for modern equivalents to the colour choice your looking for. I hope this helps.
