Air cleaner

Good one :)

The original will have more patina as we like to call it. Or they are made of fiberglass and you can tap it. Yours is real at least the one was on your car when I saw it. Not saying it had patina or nuthin:D

It certainly looks real. The lettering and so on is very crisp. It's obviously been chromed and the chrome has some of those pesky rust pinholes like it has the measles. The other thing I see on it is a serial number. Not stamped, it looks machined in.
Now what to do with it? My initial thought is to have it re-chromed after prepping it very carefully. Chrome shops will do the prep but, I've had issues with some. Norm's plating?
Any advise or ideas?

I thought I had searched all the old threads but, I missed all previous posts about air cleaners. Ran across the "another air cleaner" thread. Answered a lot of questions. I think I might be getting a handle on this forum finally! ;-)
