Are Tiger front sway bars the same as series 4 and 5 Alpines?

There is no separate listing in the Tiger parts list for a different sway bar..... Generally if the specific part is NOT listed in the Tiger parts list it is the same as the then current Alpine part. The Alpine parts list shows that the series IV and V Alpines used the same sway bar.

Sunbeam specialties shows the same stock 3/4" id mount bushings for Tigers and later Alpines

Maybe I'm thinking of the early series Alpine v later Series.

I'm a long way from my parts book and the tiger supplement.. maybe someone has one handy?
 
I had checked in my Parts Supplement for the Sunbeam “260” & “289”. In Section MF Suspension – Front, there are no stabilizer bars listed. That implies that the Tigers use the same as what came on the Series IV and V Alpines.

I also looked up the same information in my Alpine Parts manual. In Section M Suspension – Front, there are two part numbers for Stabilizer Bars. 1201492 is listed for Series I and II, while 1210473 is listed for Series II Le-Mans and all Series III. In Section MA Suspension – Front, 1210241 is listed as the Stabilizer Bar for Series IV and V.

Unfortunately, the diameters are not listed for any of the stabilizer bars.
 
The series I/II had the thinner bar, the HLM had the factory special tunning kit bar i think...so I'm a bit surprised it was on the S3.

I thought the S3 may have had the same diameter as the SIV-V but the profile and retainers being different due to the earlier front end arms.

Been a while since I've played around on the front ends...I do recall having to get the smaller bushes for my series II
 
It sounded like the HLM was based on the Series II Alpine, so an updated bar (different from the Series I and II Alpines) makes sense. Maybe Sunbeam thought it was an improvement over the Series II bar and went ahead and decided to use it on the Series III Alpines.

The SII special tuning kit was the booklet and optional parts for competition rootes offered.

Quite a few of the Special Tuning items came standard on the HLM. The oil cooler, lighter flywheel, camshaft, micorcell contour 6 seats off the top of my head.... There were other parts that could be specified too...but the HLM had several of them as standard
