It's always said when you aren't seeking, you will find! After patiently waiting and watching for a Tiger air cleaner for what seems like an eternity, a fellow CAT member sent a message saying I shouldn't have to wait any longer; he would be willing to part with his. What he didn't say was it's absolutely the cleanest nicest original cleaner I've seen to date. We are truly fortunate as members to have the resources and quality Tiger owners that this forum provides. Thanks to all involved my search is over.

Thanks for Loyal Tiger Owners!!

Last year, late one evening at United 31 in Pigeon Forge, TN, I was tuning my carb and it was dark and beginning to rain so I closed everything up and turned in for the evening. The next morning I went out to resume and my OE Tiger air cleaner was missing! I found it under the car. I fellow owner came by later and said he saw it by the car late last night and pushed it out of sight to hide it for me til morning. A loyal friend indeed!! I hadn't had the Tiger very long and new the air cleaners were rare, but didn't know that I may never have another if I lost mine.

On another note: Mine had a lousy silver paint job. I started to sand it off to repaint but decided to use stripper to be more gentle to the metal. It is/was galvanized and so I left it that way. Did the air cleaners come galvanized?

I followed the thread on the CAT forum, (using the Rustoleum Hammertone Silver etc.) since Jim had very carefully brought mine back to bare metal. If yours is galvanized in its past I would not lose that protection! Truly the beauty in these is in the eye of the beholder. In fact my previous 70s period chrome (no brand!!) was quite well made. Your Tiger brothers will appreciate your original, regardless of condition.
