BAT/CL '66 that is familiar

Sure looks good in the ad, I can honestly say I have never seen the car in person but know the owner does upkeep on it whenever it calls for it. Nothing hidden here. Seems like a good price too, should go quickly.

Wayyyyy off topic but...

What benefit do the 289 heads give on a 260?

Just read the comments. They are a catty bunch.

Better breathing

I do not remember the size of the combustion chamber, Maliburevue is a numbers guy.

I think also adding 1.90 intake valves was easily done as well or it may be the reason it was a period mod.

I have driven a couple 260 cars and the blue car with it's 289 heads has a bit more pep.

It also does not complain a nick when forced to consume 87 octane fuel, I do think the combustion chambers are a little bigger.

Calling them a catty bunch is being nice. The site seems like a bathroom wall in a truck stop " Flag as not constructive " sure. I have seen Duke visits there as a ambassador for the Tiger truth.

Thanks for the info.

I was being kind. If it was my car, there would be expletives flying.

I do find the whole idea of a site for selling cars that allows comments odd anyway.
I'm sure there's a reason for it but it just strikes me as a magnet for trolls and anyone else selling similar cars.

... tire kicker types who have the interest and the means to pick one up,...
Where did I hear that?

:D

These pics are older, MK2 , SV head light rings are not on car any more. We are looking at getting them reproduced. I am one of the guys who was able to get the AC air filter housings reproduced for the Tiger. If we do and you buy the car I will throw in a pair of headlight rings, Thanks Warren

There's more talk about those pesky new-fangled non-peaked headlight rings again!!! Maybe available in stores just in time for Christmas!!!

I'm just sayin...

The 260 and 289 heads have the same size combustion chamber. The 289 has larger valves. Oddly, early 63 & 64 289 Hipo heads actually had a smaller chamber, with the exact same size valves as stock 289s, but in 1965 they went to the same size chambers as stock 289s.
