Blower motor?

My car sat in storage for 40+ years. I have power to the blower but it does not work. Is there any way to get to the squirrel cage externally to spin it? My wipers gave me fits and would not stay running or restart, but after I got them working I let them run for 15 minutes and now all is fine. So maybe the blower just needs a little physical encouragement too.

Taking it out and disassembling it would be best probably has dirty and thick grease locking it up. Or you could try gently tapping it... But I'd pull it

Those wee nuts & bolts will break the bakelite if they are rusted. Soak them for a long time before turning them. experienced 2-cents

LOL!
I thought I'd go out and have a look at my spare... the three nuts/bolts that hold the screen cover were a bit rusty alright! Thought I'd just crank 'em anyway... 2 spun underneath and I managed to get one off. I could then crank one side of the cover up enough to at least get the screen out. Not a great design!

I think after I grind/destroy the other 2 to get it apart, I'll be putting some riv-nuts in there so I can bolt from the outside!:D

BTW, I also have a spare blower for the wife's '66 A-H Sprite... and other than the mount bracket, they're identical right down to the part# ;)
