I'm getting my bumpers re-chromed tomorrow. These have not been on the car in a long time, and I have 4 sets which I have gathered over the years. Here are the questions.
I have 2 different types of bumperettes (bumper guard) Some mount to the bracket with a plate welded into the inside of the bumperette and threaded so the bolt goes through the bracket and threads into the bumperette. The others have a squared off opening in the face of the bumperette (under the rubber cover) so the bolt goes through the bumperette and the washer and nut are on the bracket side. Is this a front/back set, or different years? If front/back, then which is front?
The rear brackets all seam to have a slightly different curve where they mount to the body, along with a slight twist. Should that be at a 90 degree bend or something slightly less?
How do the metal clips holding on the rubber guards come off?
Any help appreciated.
