This car came up for sale and then disappeared in an hour. It was/is in Van Nuys.

Sheesh!

I hope that poor Tiger has now found a nice home. It looks like someone tried to compost it. Wonder if there is much rust on the underside after sitting for some time in a compost heap.

Car abuse

When I see this type of car storeage I wonder “why”. Either store it correctly or sell it. Hope that the new owner will give this car the Justage it deserves.

Conservation Considerations

I wonder how many critters were displaced when it finally moved ?

Hoarder

The fellow I talked to said he was a junk to the dump guy hired by the family of the hoarding fellow. He said it went to a friend of the owner, and that it was covered with so many tarps it was hidden. I suppose you guys noticed the CAT lic. plate frame. The green registration sticker looks to be 1983. It can be bad when the green waste piles up so high. The interior shows the AC housing tossed inside a highly original interior, like it quit running yesterday too bad I can't add a crying cat emojee. The listing was for 5000.00 but the Junk guy said friend of owner scooped it up. So it'll likely pop up someplace. No VIN was listed but they said they had a pink slip so the black plate can stay with the car.

Randy, I saw your posting on the heater valve, I never could get solder to stick to anything that looked plated like that . The SAOCA guys have a similar thread . Maybe you could share your picture here of your clients car. I remember paying over 120.00 when I got my first Tiger for a stock used heater valve and bracket. It held together for 3 years or so. When I sold that car I told the buyer it had a 5 day or 5' Warrenty. The next weekend he called and said it blew. I reminded him I told you to get a 90 degree elbow and a couple of hose clamps for the E kit that he should have in trunk.

I wonder if there is any cruciform left at all.. Tose lovely LATs are down to the rim in the ground.. So middle of the x must have been a few inches into mother earth....what a shame

Marks Car!!!!!!!!

I grew up with the owner of that car. It was the first Tiger I ever got a ride in. I have a lot of memories with that Tiger. Mark got that car for graduation from High School. His Father got it from the Original owner, this was back in 72? That car was and still is completely stock, except for the 500 holley. Too bad Mark let it turn to rust.( A sad story of Emotional Distress) He used to wash and wax that car every Saturday. He NEVER drove it when the Temp was over 80. He never drove in the rain, And SO much more. I talked to Ray, Marks brother, about 2 years ago, about restoring it, but I could not get to see it. I hope its not too rusted, I sure would like to see that car run again.

Don't despair

The average rainfall is about 15" .
I'm speculating here...
Let's hope the bricks and the huge pile of green waste got shook off the pictured tarps. Here's a couple more pictures, no VIN was included in the ad. I'm just a serial shopper, but in reality I have cars to sell on . When I had 14 vintage bicycles I still couldn't keep em clean or figure out how to ride more than one at a time 🤔

Thanks for sharing the car's history with us 67 Tiger!
The fun for me is to know the stories about my cars and the previous owners. Shame you could not have gotten Mark's car.....

Front Springs

Seeing the springs on the passenger seat, brought back another memory. Back in about 1973 or 74 I helped Mark install CAT springs in his car. The work was done over at Barry Greenberg's house. Barry told us what to do, and we did it. I also helped Barry install the valve cover of a car he was working on ( Ive got small hands). That was the first time I ever worked on a Tiger. The last time I say that car was about 1994, I dont know how long it had been sitting out of the garage, but under the hood was about a "TON" of rat poop. I asked Mark why he took his car out of the garage. He told me something about workman in the garage. That Tiger was the most pampered car in the world, its a shame what has happened to it.

car in dirt

Hey Warren, thanks for posting that, it's the kind of story that usually slips by unseen.

Thanks Bob and Warren does bring a wealth of information and lots of oddball information that most enjoy.

Cheers and Happy New Year

Two of my friends bought this poor Tiger.
They have the ability to bring it back.
I’m going to check it out tomorrow.
Looks like fun... for them😎

Yes, Randy, time and $$$$$$. With my neglected Tiger, it took 3 years and mucho $$$$$. I have a box full of receipts, but I've never added them up. Don't want to know, and it doesn't matter any way. Cliff

Good man Cliff

Great job on your car!! Life's too short!!! It's worth that big smile on your face when you look at that cool car and know it's yours:------

http://catmbr.org/VB_forum/album.php?albumid=86 Nice work Cliff..

There's a lot of unused space on our server for your albums either public or private to your invitee's or contacts. Guys like me would call it cheap back up...

We all need a little inspiration and I can only hope that the fellows that bought the black car visit and look here. Ive seen some other pictures of it and since I'm partial to code 1 cars I'm happy to see another even though it's a cost cutting Chrysler car ;)
