The July C.A.T. meeting will be at Superior Automotive Engineering, 761 Munroe Way, Placentia, CA on July 18. It also is D Y N O D A Y!!!! The cost estimate is $40. You don't have to dyno your car - you can still come and check out others' cars and attend the meeting, but this is a great opportunity to measure how your engine is doing and perhaps get some ideas of how you might be able to make it even better. Things start happening at 9:00 a.m.

Meeting Time Update

Received an e-mail from El Presidente Mike, and the meeting will start at 8:30 a.m. Looks like a lot of fun!

Pre meeting drive

Since the 91 is so dreadful I'm thinking a loop from South bay down 405 to Magnolia and Warner Doughnut Derelicts then up to the meeting. Derelicts has really interesting cars and sure isn't the Euro toy parking lot with a wide selection of home brewed creations and drivers.

Great Event

It does rain in California. Last time I believe it rained in July was 2003 and my roof was off the house!

This time it was a mere 50% chance of thunderstorms and worth the risk.
Well top and wipers still work, and got the air fuel dialed in at idle.

Numbers??? Having a dyno thread with no resultant numbers is like a beauty contest without pictures.

Results

The Pres has everyone's results in a email that we got and my sheet is all wrinkled and still in car.

When I get a chance I will post my build data on the car.

Beauty contests are better to be at, or just live at the beach . I almost turned around 3X because of the rain. The roads were slick as snot and down right scary with an upgraded 2 speed wiper, slow and not as slow or terrible and bad:rolleyes:

I know what you speak of. In SC that gets very little rain, oil builds up on the roads. When it does finally rain, roads might as well be ice till the oil is washed off. I bet 50% of cars in SC don't even have working WW's.

Dyno days are fun as long as no one breaks. Hey Warren, I see you in that pic, are you going through that guys stuff? :)

Dyno results

I'm working on a more comprehensive Tiger Tales Story, with the dyno graphs and engine specs. But here's the raw info

Are the figures rwhp and are they adjusted figures (airctemp , humidity etc) or were the results with the dyno on shootout mode.... Straight numbers as they were at the wheels?

Some teasing facts

Rear wheel 82 degrees, 29.75 in Hg, Humidity 40% STD 1.03

I ran premium gas but my hi hp pals say more hp from my set up plus 17% at flywheel they say.

Also depends on the type of dyno, the single roller like used on the cat day gives a higher reading due to less friction with the car sitting up on top on the roller. The twin roller where the rears sit down between the 2 rollers have twice the friction.

Anyway the real aim should be to dial in the AFR and check ignition, get the car running as sweet as possible

Dyno Pics

Sorry I am late getting these posted. Better late than never?

That black 260 sounded sweet and made the same numbers when fresh in 1999. Sorry I forgot to bring a real camera. These from smart? phone. Rick
