The April CAT meeting will be held Sunday, April 27, at the Queen’s English All British Car Meet and Auto Jumble, at Woodley’s Park in Van Nuys. Preregistration for the Car Meet saves $5, but I’m not sure when that ends. For more information about the Car Meet, check out http://www.queens-english.org/. This is usually a very popular event for bringing out our Tigers, so I hope to see you and your car there.

I have been trying to reach Jeri and see about the possibility of getting my car Tac'd here. Any suggestions on reaching him?

New Cars

Hmmmmm make up your minds your quote, "The same old cars every year," Bruce.

Get a ride with your pal down and we will baby sit you then put you off at the Greyhound station. You meet the most interesting people on the bus:D

I'm driving to the central coast Saturday, then driving to LA at O'dark thirty Sunday, going to knotts and heading out of town around 2pm to kinda beat traffic. Like I told you Big W, I am a passenger so I do what he wants. haha

Hey, do you guys usually park in a certain spot, or do you ask the person at the gate where the Tigers are parked?

I actually might be able to go- first time in years I've had a Sunday off...thanks!

9 says flyer

There was a significant log jam as I recall. I paid on line and they do a check list then bag hand out which adds to the idle time. I think I will drag in 10ish IDR what time the meeting is set for though.

Great Turnout for CAT Meeting and Car Meet - Photos 1

We had 19 Sunbeams (17 Tigers and 2 Alpines) at the Queen’s English Car Meet and CAT meeting April 27 today, more Tigers at it than I can remember at any meeting over the last few years. It was great to see such a good turnout.
I did not count the number of cars on display at the Car Meet – heck, I did not even walk around to look at all the cars – but I am guessing that there were well over 100 cars to see.
Jay Leno came by the line of Tigers and chatted with many of the owners/members. I wasn't fast enough with my camera, but I think other members might have gotten a photo or two of him.
Here are some photos from the Car Meet. I might have misidentified a car or two, so don't be shy to speak up and correct my identification.

Great Turnout for CAT Meeting and Car Meet - Photos 3

And here are a few more photos. The first one is of a car which I believe is a LOLA or a Lotus. Maybe someone with sharp eyes can identify it. It drove into the Car Meet under its own power, so it must be street legal. Unfortunately, I never did walk over for a closer look at it.

The next three photos are of a car that did not seem to have any names on it - only a hallmark that reminded me of a backward Nike "Swoosh", in gold. I don't know what it was, but it definitely looked cool and mean. Does anyone have an idea of what it was?

Its a McLaren P1.. the new hybrid hypercar.. go to the i-DRIVE or Top Gear UK shows on youtube to see its potential

Jay Leno's P1

The Car in the previous photos was Jay Leno's P1. I talked to him as he was getting in the car to drive off.

Found out from talking to Jay today that the same guy that built my Tiger in the 80's (Barry Greenberg) also built his first Tiger back in the 80's when Jay first 'made it' in Hollywood. I told Jay I have an old issue of Tiger Tales that lists him as a 'new member'...he got a kick out of that.

Great pics--looks like a good show. There were 2 black Tigers at Knotts, never saw the owners though.
