Finally have it all settled -- THE CAT XMAS TOY DRIVE IS ON!

DATE: December 10, 2011
TIME: Meet up between 1000 and 1100
LOCATION: Whittier Quad by the Starbucks (located just east of Painter Av. on the south side of Whittier Bl.)
ADDITIONAL: My cell phone is 626-664-2686 if you need help or run into trouble.

Come on out and join us for the CAT Xmas Toy Drive, bring some toys and have some fun!
We will meet up for cocoa (or whatever Starbucks has to offer) between 10 - 11 am, then take a short, but fun drive through "Old Town" Whitter and over Turnbull Canyon Rd, then on to the Speed Zone in City of Industry for the toy drive.
The December Membership and Elections Meeting will be held at SpeedZone after we unload the toys. Then you can play at SpeedZone 'til you're tired.

Should be as in past years -- entertainment at SpeedZone, and a $5 ride ticket for each toy you bring.
Unfortunately, due to budget cuts and the current political bent, the CHP can't provide an escort, so we'll have to make the toy run ourselves.

Maybe we could get West Covina cops to give an escort. They could film and put it on You-Tube. LOL

Don't know if I can make it...but will TAC inspections be done at this event? If not, when & where? Thanks

Toy Drive / TAC Insp

Sorry, there won't be a TAC at this event. This is strictly a "help the less fortunate" and "have fun" day. There is going to be a general and elections meeting during our stay at SpeedZone.
For those who can't make the toy drive, but want to attend the meeting and vote for 2012 officers and board, just come out to the SpeedZone about noon on the 10th.
SpeedZone is located in the Puente Hills Mall complex just south of the 60 fwy, off at the Azusa ramp.

Good Day!

I attended with Black Tiger (Bonnie attended a Canine Companions for Independence XMas party at the same time) and counted 7 Sunbeams at the Quad. A few others tagged along in later model cars. Others were there to greet us arriving at the SpeedZone.

Mike Nannenhorn drove all the way from Escondido (San Diego County) again! Driving a future classic Ford SVT Contour with a couple friends. I invited Hayden (friend of Mike) who is under 16? over 10? years old to ride with me on the caravan through Turnbull Canyon from Whittier over the hills to the San Gabriel Valley. We extended the fun by turning back and southeast to cross the hills again on another road. Leaving the Quad I gave Hayden my camera and asked him to take pictures all the way. As you can see in the pictures attached he really did well!

Best wishes for Christmas.

More Toy Drive at SpeedZone

More Pic's.

I tried driving that Dragster thing this time. Most acceleration I have experienced on four wheels. Chevy V8 in that thing and it is guided by a track and also stops without help from the driver. The driver does launch with the "tree" green (or red lights) and pops a button for the shift to second gear. Good rush!

Oh yeah it was also the last CAT Membership Meeting of the year and elections.
