CAT Club Meeting and Tour of Egge Machinery, Tuesday August 12th, 2025 9:30 am

Egge Machine Company
8403 Allport Ave
Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670

On Tuesday August 12th, your Cat Club will step out of our usual weekend events to take a tour of Egge Machinery in Santa Fe Springs, CA.
The traffic will be awful, but Egge is only open on weekdays and we want to be there when they are in operation. We won't hold you to it if you decide to take your air conditioned daily driver to this one!

Founded in 1915, Egge Machine Company is a family-owned, world-class piston manufacturer that specializes in domestic vehicle applications from the early 1900s to 1980. Egge operates a state-of-the-art foundry and machine shop in its Santa Fe Springs, CA facility. As a matter of fact, Egge is the very last remaining foundry casting aluminum pistons in America. There’s a lot of history here and they are excited to give us a tour and we will be there when the foundry is actually pouring. The tour will last about an hour, depending on how many questions are asked.

After Egge, we will continue the our gearhead day by traveling down the street to Moon Eyes, at

MOONEYES USA, Inc.
10820 S NORWALK BLVD
SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA 90670
USA

Mooneyes products and logos are an indelible part of Hot Rod nostalgia, easily recognizable to gearheads and novices alike. Mooneyes produces Moon tanks, Moon discs, and valve covers right on site in our Machine Shop. We also supply various parts and accessories for hot rods, rat rods, and kustom creations, as well as an expanding line of motorcycle products. Located in the same place since it all started back in the 1950s. They too have graciously agreed to host us for a tour of the facility and give us a little bit of history on how they were at the center of the Hot Rodding movement since the 1950's

Depending on timing, we might visit a third location The Hathaway Museum, or just head over to appropriately named "Geezers" or maybe a real blast from the past for me, the Steak Corral, for lunch and a quick meeting.
