The July CAT meeting will take place on Sunday, July 20, at the 24th Annual Ventura County British Car Show, Channel Islands Harbor, 3600 Harbor Blvd., Oxnard, CA.

If you would like to register you Tiger (or any other British Car), pre-registration is $35.00. On the day of the event, registration is $40.00. This includes an event tee shirt. For more information as well as the registration form, go to http://centralcoastbritishcarclub.com/content/uploads/2014/03/2014-CCBCC-Car-Show-Registration-Form-and-Flyer.pdf. Note that in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Tiger, the car show will be featuring all of the cars from the Rootes Group!

If you don't feel like polishing up your baby, you can still come to the meeting without registering any car, but you'll have to park in the visitor parking lot.

This is a great opportunity for those of you in the Ventura County area and points further north to link up with fellow CAT members and check out one another's cars. The meeting is expected to start somewhere around noon, but the car show starts at 9:00 a.m.

See ya there!

central coast car show

I'm heading up to the Central Coast British Car Show this Sunday leaving Venice at around 7am.

I plan on going up PCH through Malibu then on to Oxnard. If anyone is taking that route let me know and we can meet up somewhere and drive together.

I'm not looking forward to the return trip though, on a sunny Sunday afternoon that whole stretch of PCH going south is going to be brutal.

I just got an email confirmation and was browsing some of the other recipients...noticed at least 7 Tiger owners that I recognized- I'm sure there are more, and probably some mail-in registrants that aren't on the email list. Hope it's as good as the turnout we had at Ventura Harbor about 10 years ago. I think there were about 20 Tigers at that one:)

car show

I received that email (posted below) last night after registering 4 days ago using paypal.

You are receiving this e-mail because you have pre-registered for the Central Coast British Car Club Car Show on the 20th of July 2014 which is this upcoming Sunday at the Channel Islands Harbor Park at 3600 Harbor Blvd. in Oxnard, Ca..
We will be checking in entrants on Sunday morning starting at 6:30 am and would like to have everyone parked in the class areas by 8:45 am as the official start of the show is at 9 am to 3 pm.
When you arrive at the show site you will be directed to the check in table where you will be given you dash / window card and the location of the class area for your car and told where to pickup your show t-shirt.
If you have any questions please e-mail me and I will do my best to answer your question or find someone who can get you an answer.
Remember to bring some small bills (1's, 5's and 10's) for our raffle prize drawings if you wish to participate in those drawings during the day. Also bring a folding chair and sun screen as it can get hot on the show site especially in the afternoon.
We also have a number of Vendors that will be at the show so make sure you take the time to see what they have and offer.

Nice turnout for the British Car Show in Channel Islands Harbor today. I think they announced 138 cars in all. About 15 Tigers out of a total of maybe 20 Rootes vehicles. I was thrilled for Colin and Ann Hook, who not only won top Tiger, but, Best-Of-Show honors as well! Congrats!!

I generally take pretty crummy pictures with my point and shoot camera, but here's one more...I'm sure others will post better pics!

Great show today, big thanks to Bill Rogers for organizing it, you couldn't ask for a more perfect setting.

I took off up the coast at around 6am and aside from stopping in Malibu for coffee I don't think I hit the brakes more than 5 times. That stretch of PCH is as good as it gets.

I've included a picture of David W and Michelle W, David is never in any shots since he is usually the one taking all of the pictures.

As was mentioned the Hooks crushed all competition with their red mk1 that they restored 18 years ago.

Now looking forward to Monterey in a few weeks.

Come on Bob there were only 2 MK2's there:) All the cars were really nice except mine and the Tigershark:D I suspect Mark had some shark fin soup as the fin was gone.

The white looking car is a Balmoral Grey car and looks if it was used as a model for the T shirt, Great.

the Mrs. told me I look slimmer in the black shirt and it goes with everything even my scabby top siders.

Jealous on the East Coast

What a great turnout of Tigers...and they all look fabulous. Congrats to the show winner...and all the owners of these beautiful cars.

A Few More Photos

Hope no one is getting sick of photos from this show! Here are a few more. Photo 009 is of Ken Mastinick's son picking up his plaque for winning 2nd place in the Tigers class. And photo 010 shows Colin Hook picking up his 1st place plaque in the same category. And Colin's car also won Best of Show! Way to go, Colin and Ken! In photo 003 is a Sunbeam Imp (which we don't see a lot of) sitting next to a very rare Sunbeam Venezia.

Bob was kind enough to show my red Mk II in his photos. It also was one of the best two Mk IIs at the show.
