CAT has again been invited to run with Lynn Parks Cobra Club at their open track at Willow October 26-27. It looks like we might have a half dozen Tigers running!

The big track will be open to all Tigers at a cost of only $200 for the entire weekend. All levels of drivers are welcome, whether beginner or expert. There will be 3 run groups: beginner, intermediate and race. Roll bars are only required for the race group. Instructors are available for those who would likes some pointers (no extra cost).

Other requirements are a Snell SA helmet 2000 or newer, a fire extinguisher with a metal bracket and dual throttle return springs. Long sleeved pants and shirts will suffice if you don't have a driver's suit. Shoulder harnesses are not required. A lap belt with a shoulder strap is OK.

Will look the same, give or take later this month.

Buck tells me we have maybe 5 or more Tigers entered which will be some kind of record.

BTW if you can come out to spectate? You will be welcome of course. Will try to give you a ride in the lunchtime passenger session. The track charges $10 a head for the weekend. Participants pay too.

Worth it also BTW this is a car show on steroids. With action and serious wonderful noise.

It looks like we'll have a half dozen Tigers out at Willow this coming weekend. Tom Sakai and I are bringing our race Tigers and Tom is also bringing his black street Tiger. (With two Tigers, there will be a spare for Dan Walters).

As mentioned in an earlier post Rick is bringing out his TigerBlue. Bob Josten is getting his white Tiger ready while Dan and I are helping Tiffany Rogers get her green Tiger into track ready shape. Not sure but Mike Michels might join us as well. We'll be running both Saturday and Sunday. John Morton will do some driving and some book signing as well.

Willow is a great place to watch Tigers run. A trip up to the "Balcony" is well worth the effort since the view there is so great. When you sit in the bleachers, your point of view is exactly on the plane of the road surface. It's a great place to watch suspension work (or see 4 wheeled cars tricycling through the turns). A two day spectator admission is only $10.

It's going to be tough to show up without my car, but I will be there spectating. The last time my car ran was 2004, when I parked it in the garage after running this event. Kids and life took over. Just within the last 2 weeks I have started resurrecting the old red beater and hope to have it running again. Maybe someday I'll be out there running with you again, Rick!

Mat, Be good to see you. Bring the family!

Photos from Mothers Day 2003. That is Mr. T next red Tiger. Turn 6 with Bud Balcony in the background is TigerBlue. A shot by the track photographer.

And thanks again for helping with parts to patch things up to drive home one time.
