Nice job.

Bill and Tom, it'd be nice to have eyes on the cars. Where are the intrepid cub reporters for CAT? As I told a fellow who just bought a car at auction, "they always look better in pictures I learned my lesson buying vintage bicycles.
" on ePay. Hopefully that auction car will get seen before it's off to Palm springs. On my survey of two auctions there's no hood opening opportunity no test drive and no just hear it idle. When Lee sold his in Newport Beach at auction we actually stood by the car for some time and 3 or 4 prospects walked up and requested the opening of the hood n boot. I met 66Mk1a AKA Jim in Scottsdale a couple years back and might go again.

look at hagerty and there's some 30 plus tigers for sale--whats going on??

Hidden Gremlins

We recently rescued an auctioned MK1A for a client. It looked fabulous at first, BUT, the drive down the street showed a nightmare of malcontent mechanical parts & fitment. It took a while to sort the car on a wounded budget. Once again, the moral be 'Buyer be careful!"

Tally

11 on Hemmings going to auction 6 private sellers and the balance dealers ,
Although I'd hardly call Beverly Hills a dealer. I've seen the car at CPR in Fallbrook and could tell you where he got the air cleaner housing;)
That Porsche blue is like Commodore Blue sort of. Nice car I was hoping that owner would drive it...

Auction

The market has definitely relaxed the prices from the summer of 2014. Having said that, good cars, or no storied cars seem to do well or better than the price guide would lead us to believe. I wonder if any buzz from the current movie Ford vs Ferrari (I know there is no Sunbeam shown) will aid the auctioneer in the description at the auction to describe (worth mentioning from the auction house stand point) both Shelby and Miles have a connection with this misunderstood car. I guess it comes down to each and every car’s individual condition and owner history.

Tigers at Mecum Kissimmee

I was there Friday and Saturday and saw most of them go through. I did not see the green one go through that sold for $82.5 but looked at it afterward and it looked like a nice example.

The ones that did not sell at 70 (Black with red stripes) and did not sell at 72.5 (blue) had issues. In my opinion they probably should have taken the bids.

Colin Comer's red original Tigers were quite impressive with appropriate patina, just did not find buyers at this venue, would probably be better served at RM, Gooding or the like. Comer did sell a number of his cars so probably felt like holding the reserves.

I found no evidence or mention of TAC on any of the cars. Hot trends for Mecum auctions are restomod Corvettes and Camaros, and also some Mopars. They seem to lean toward GM cars more than others. Lots of Mustangs at this one due to Bullitt presence.

I am planning on checking out the Barrett-Jackson Tigers on Wednesday. The problem is unless there is an owner around. you cannot get a look at the interesting bits.

Not the

Crooked trim car....

The no reserve MK2 is interesting. Anyone see it in the flesh . Needed another Tiger every day until I got a few...
