I'm no expert and screen views do not always show correct colors however code 58 is Midnight Blue.

Thats very close to 58 midnight blue, which has azure blu interior... bit hard to tell with the odd exposure in the pic..

here are some mindnight blue sunbeams (Midnight Blue with Azure Blue upholstry & Dark blue seat piping. Azure Blue carpets):

I was thining it should be a darker blue--but my windshield frame is very close to that color---almost a blue/grey color. Is there a color chart anywhere online?? Thanks for the input.

Online is not much good.. monitors vary to much, what you need is the realted paint codes, will see what i can dig up. Otherwise contact jan servities from the SAOCA he has matched the original colours and had them sprayed on a disk so the local paint shop can match for you.

Also scower the tigers list archive.. those type of questions have been answered before for various colours.

You can remove your heater core cover (the hood latch bolts to it) and hopefully the underside has the original paint on it. Use that for a perfect color match.

color code

many cars painted midnight blue also had the black interior. there are several in this area with this color combination.

Thanks--that color looks close to the underside of my soft top cover. My interior is black now but maybe it was blue originally--any way to find out??

color code

there were several cars that used the color "midnight blue". ford had it and i have seen several cars that were painted that color. we used a color that was used on saab if i remember right. hard to remember what someone else did back in 1995. our body man has mixed up the original and has probably sprayed a few tigers and alpines that color.

That picture does have an odd exposure, but I think it is midnight blue. My car is 58. Although not original paint, it matches parts that haven't been painted such as the inside of the hood and trunk.

Thanks Jeff----I had never seen the color except under my dash and in the soft top area--it was faded and I didn't prefer it--then. Seeing it all shiny sure makes it look a whole lot better--but too late, I went Med Blue.
There is always next time.......... :)

I painted mine dark green without asking first what that number 1 means, and like you said maybe next time (Black) :)

I'm a color code 1, also. The Carnival Red paint job that's been on the car for the last 30 years is still hanging in there- maybe next time...

if you ever go black, you never go back

Embassy Black, according to Norm when I was buying my Tiger. quite rare on a Mark 1 A. If I didn't get complimented each time I drive my dark blue metallic, perhaps I could go back...

When I chose to paint mine code 100 I got a lot of friends saying "NO". I am so glad I did, it's a nice light color and people love it. Had 3 people talk to me at different stop lights last weekend about the car and all said "is that a stock color? Love it". Always makes you feel good.

My Alpine V is the rather rare metallic mid blue. My Tiger was the origional Midnight Blue. However I have been seduced by the midnight metallic blue from the porsche company. :D When it finally is delivered to the body man, that will be the color.

Color Blind!

Anyone have contact info for Jan Servities? Looking to repaint my original color code 86 and want to get it right.

I have his e-mail address from several years ago. I sent it to you via PM. As I recall he was hard to reach at the time. Might have a filter of some sort on his email, or is just very busy Finally got through though.
