Wanted Core headlight rings

Basically I want only the inner stamped retainer pieces. The part that's held onto the castings.

Still wanted....
But here's the reason.
Daniel M.
Not that one...
But Mesinger probably spelt wong :)
Has made some fiberglass MK2 headlight rings , doors whatever you wanna call em. I don't have a squaring shear nor sheet metal brake at my disposal. My Hot rod fab neighbor got pushed out of the residential district by the code enforcement _____. Then they came after me for my roller Alpines. Oops back to the topic ,

I have given away my bent ones and damaged ones to guys who said oh I'll fix em.

both the early cars and the Mk2 headlight rings use the same stamped upper part. I see no reason why they couldn't just be flat steel. originally these were retained by crushing an extruded pin in the headlight ring proper, but I have fixed them by drilling the area and using a flat head screw. I have 2 sets of Mk2 headlight rings (real ones.

I could make a a couple of sheet steel parts out of 18ga.

I was thinking the slight lip formed on the edge has something to do or be needed in staying connected.
There's no good reason these should command the prices that they fetch. My first Tiger had them .
I loaned a spare I have to Daniel for mold making as well as the earlier one. He reported that it would be too much trouble to make those.

it would be easy enough to make the lip to engage with the headlight bucket with a ball pein hammer and the requisite use of force "blunt force trauma" ... I agree that the price of the Mk2 headlight rings is high. there are 2 versions... the Hillman trim is stamped brass, the correct Mk2 trims are cast mazak... I have a couple sets of REAL MK2 trims... but I could easily make the steel bits which you could figure out how to mount

I saw a broken headlight rim at a friends - bet he stil has it. Let me know if you still need and I can make a drive over there today to check. He may have a waste roll ? your budget for that and condition preference.

Thanks , Kragh you don't need to make a special trip.
As for the waist roll show me what is laying about. I could order a new one or have the fellow who did my top in the 80s make one but his time is best served to have a pattern or model. Dano66 has his 1/2 tonneau pictured. I have one that I am adding to. I have reinforced it so it could accept headrest and a guide at a proper angle for a shoulder belt.
