Craigslist Tiger listings

Wow--they spent 40k to have the original engine redone in the white car?
Overall 3 decent examples of the marque.

Stick on mouldings

Everyone used those sticky door dent preventing mouldings back in the 70's and 80's :D

Last body shop I worked at was in the 70's. I got fired by one of them as I was always made the cars overheat and was late and during delivery to the dealership we worked for Santa Monica Imported Cars imagine that:cool:

Seems like a lot of dough for a car with average paint disconnected heater wrong oil cap, air cleaner and a un restored h/t. But not enough pics to judge at all ...

Doh... I get it now the the air cleaner, maybe time to change the filters in the respirator I've been painting my LAT hood today:eek:

Coupe?

Looks like someone added some of the body side molding that was popular in the 70s to help deflect door dings. But, apparently they did not remove the original side trim to add that, after all it is “all original”.

I would want to buy it just for the “Carol [sic] Shelby 260 motor”.

Maybe I need to do more research first, to be sure that I am worthy. True car enthusiasts are apparently wise enough to let the car sit in a building with no top and no cover on it [the car, not the building] and let it “collect dust”. Or maybe it has an invisible top, since it is listed as a “coupe”.

Number 3 is in a "climate controlled building". That means the building has insulation.

Too much of a 'tude and no interest to sell for me to bother with.

"This car has been "TAC'ed" (authenticated) by STOA and has the documentation to prove it"

That would be really weird to have a car TACed and not be able to prove it. What a pickle that would be.
:D

I agree. Just hate listers on any forum of advertising that throw the "tude" in. If you don't want to sell it, then don't sell it. I'm going to send him a legit offer.

I thought the same thing... seller states in the ad several times that they don't need to sell it.... why did they bother to post an ad??? Seems like maybe an ethically challenged seller trolling for a moron with more money than common sense - and hoping their attitude will translate to "must be rare and valuable" in the mark's mind.
I think the lady selling car #2 she inherited from her father might have accidentally put the decimal point one place too far to the right on the engine rebuild. Hard to believe anyone would be dumb enough to pay 1000% over market.

What I find amazing as a buyer is the difficulty some people make to contact them. I figure that if I was selling (listing) something I would be more available; maybe some of these sellers think that by saying "I don't have to sell" the selling price will become higher. Oh well "what do I know"?

there are people out there that have items that are in the way and will put them up for sale and if the right figure pops up they'll sell it just to get it out of the way. since they don't have to sell it they are free to make a decision not to sell it if some cheapskate offers a price well below what the item is worth. I took some items to SUNI this year with the intent to sell if the price was right. I told a couple people that if I couldn't get what I thought the items are worth that I could haul them home the same way I got them there which was what I did with a few things since I don't need the money. saying what this seller said is not an attitude, it's common sense on his part. at some point someone will offer what is a fair price and he may sell. my wife has a saying when it comes to our cars and parts. " WE DON'T NEED TO FEED AND WATER THEM AND INSURANCE IS CHEAP SO IF SOMEONE WANTS TO BUY THEM THEY NEED TO PAY A FAIR PRICE".

"SOMEONE WANTS TO BUY THEM THEY NEED TO PAY A FAIR PRICE".

To you what constitutes a FAIR PRICE? What I may consider a fair price may be to you an unfair price and vice versa. If you have a value in mind for something you are selling then why not state it so there is not ambiguity on the FAIR PRICE?
