You might need to try a few to get one to fit. We just compared about 7-8 and found quite a bit of dispersion in total length...I have no idea how or why, but I kid you not.

It can depend on if the car is supported by the wheels or by blocking behind the wheel well also. I know there are shims for them as I've found them occasionally when taking them off other cars. I'm not sure how the cars were supported when the factory fitted these pieces originally but it may even say in the workshop manual... I've never checked

No, what I'm saying is that we went through a good number of the actual tubular braces and found as much as 3/8" difference in total length (actually, most were within about 1/8", but there was one that was nearly 3/8" longer). No doubt the distance between the mount flanges on the unibody will vary from car to car, but I expected the braces to be identical.

The early alpine ones are a different length as they pick up in a slightly different point on the guards

ah...that might explain the one that was way longer. But, even within the ones that were pulled from SIV and SV cars, there were significant differences in length.

Doesn't surprise me but I measured both the Series V pair and MK1A pair I have and they were all exactly 11 15/16" at their longest dimension.
I also have 2 Tiger cross members ... and the rack mounts are different
