Wanted Driver's Side Vent Window Frame

I need a complete driver's side vent window frame for a Mk 1-A.
I assume you need the base as well.... the RH and LH qtr window and frame are the same part, it's just the base that makes them left or right. The Mk1a and Mk2 have the GT base... I'm sure I have the frame and glass. Steve Alcala was remaking the bases in brass but they require some finishing before having them plated. Originals blister as they are pot metal and they also crack. The blistering presents all kinds of issues when having them re-chromed....

If the bases are not cracked but do have pits a good chrome shop can make them look better than new. LiBrandi's in Harrisburg, Pa. have replated several pitted ones for me. You just have to pay the price. I seem to remember around seventy dollars each for show chrome. That was a couple years before Covid so cost may now be higher.

You're just stating the facts. Many shops have gone out of business or can't afford to update to EPA standards. One shop locally closed due to their location and wouldn't be able to update. That's the thing about LiBrandi's. They'll give you an estimate of repair and ask you for an OK before doing the work. If you're timid about pricing and If the pits require too much buildup or grinding to make it right they tell you. Yay or Nay is your choice. They are a shop that has manuals that show specs of bumpers and other parts so the final finished product is as it should be. Will we see you at the United next week?

My bride and I were scheming to take a ride over Friday-ish to gawk and shoot the bull. Our personal Tiger is still up in the air. Yes I have the GT bases here, but you have to be willing to absorb the cost of a usable base and the new chrome (ouch!).
