EBAY Anyone know this one?

New Ebay member with no history and willing to sell today for $14900 if you have the cash.
He does show a VIN so I wonder who owns it - if it's a scam lets hope the real owner checks in.

Shady?

ONLY TODAY $14,900. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE FUNDS AVAILABLE TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION. NO LOANS. NO TRADES. Just today OnLy $14,900. You are more than welcome to come test drive and inspect the vehicle . Questions? TXT at : (775) 235-8872

The Vin is in BON and was in Michigan. No color code listed but second owner at the time the Registry was published. 1993

The offer? has nearly expired. By the photos it is worth much much more.

Too good to be true.

Rick

Note the short time differential between my post and the previous. A coincidence that I agreed with George. I had not seen his post as I was looking at EBAY and replying!

If it was legit I would have thought that it would be gone by now. He lists a VIN but not a pic of it......I should text him and ask for a short video to be sent tonite.....:)

Just do it

Bid on it let him prove it up and then try to explain the final value fees to e bay. If everyone bid on phony auctions they would drive the final value fees up so high and those would be posted to a stolen credit card THEN eBay might get their crap together and set up a system that is more hack proof.
If you don't pay on a auction the toothless dog eBay is a joke, and they do nothing of any consequence to a non paying buyer.
I was hi bidder on a steering wheel, eBay did nothing other than send a threat in a email even though I had called noted account and offered up reason not to pay that they agreed was against ebay policy for seller to ask for.. They are too big to care and too big to police their own turf.

Bruce you have a very nice car get over your restorers remorse and go out and flog it about after all it's supposed to be 58 color:)

Thanks Warren--I love my car and I do drive the wheels off of it--but I would love to be able to "personalize" a Tiger with body and interior mods without cutting up a "good" Tiger. Make sense? You know I am a flared fender nerd, just something about them that looks cool.

I see it's up to $18,100 already on day 1--so no one bought it for $14,900....and so far no response.

Over $14,900

It's gone even higher since Cobrakidz's posting - over $22,000. However, it still has not hit the reserve price. So why is the reserve price higher than the Buy it Today price of $14,900? Anybody got a 10-ft pole?

Remember

The scene in Animal House, the sneeze?, but here it should be Ahhhhhh Ahhhh Alger or maybe it has a Alpine battery box and rear clip, that could splain it, Previous auctions show a Alpine battery box.

"Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men," The Shadow, well him I'm sure, but also those who are constant watchers and serial downloaders of eBay auction pics.

eBay has changed their picture hosting so you get like 15 big pictures, 1st. sniff test that fails is a small number of them.

I'm sure it is a Sunbeam but not much else so far. I never like the guilty until proven innocent, but to leave pics off that were used in a previous auction? WTH Who needs those pesky exhaust pass thru the frame anyway they just trap water and rust out:)

So far I have not received a reply from the seller--maybe he is busy doctoring up the paperwork..... ;)

Messaged the guy that I was 30 miles away from Vegas and would like to see the car on the night it was listed...got this response this AM.

Hello,
I am glad that you are interested in my 1965 Sunbeam Tiger MK-1A .
The car was completely rebuilt with new paint, carpet, top, seats, new wood dash panel, etc. There is no rust in this car! The engine and drive train are original
to the car. The 260 V8 has been freshened, but not bored. The original carburetor and manifold have been updated to Edelbrock. The original air cleaner was replaced with an aftermarket type. The bumpers and guards were re-chromed during the restoration. The body badges and side chrome are new. It has an updated Griffin aluminum radiator, with cooling fan installed. The doors fit nicely and the engine runs strong and sounds great with Flow Master exhausts. All the instruments work, as do all the lights, horn and turn signals.

I legally own a clear title, free of any liens or loans, under my name. Not interested in a trade and my final price is $14,900.

Just want to sell it ASAP, I am using Google Wallet as my ex-wife suggested, she also sold her car, without any headaches!

First of all please let me know where are you located ?

I will also need to know if you require a loan ? Or the funds are available
?

Thank you ,
Antonio Baker

Auction had ALL bids cancelled except one and was down to $11k... now a couple new bidders up over $37k!! Crazy!!

I googled 'Antonio Baker scam' ... and got a few hits! Looks like he has a few other scams going on ... at least with THAT name :confused:
