Engine Stand for a SBF

Hi All, it's been a while since I've posted here.

I've got a very tired 289 which I need to strip and send off for machining. Engine stands which I've used in the past have disappointed as although they had the correct weight ratting for the engines being worked on, they never felt particularly stable and turning the engine on the stand was hazardous.

Have any of you stripped and rebuilt the SBF in your car, and if so could you recommend a suitable engine stand?

Thanks!

Harbor Freight

I used a stand from Harbor Freight to rebuild a SBC. I believe they are heavier than the SBF. Very stable, cheap price.

Stability

Stay away from the "T" shaped floor frame. They will tip forward and down easily. Best to pick one out with a hefty "U" shaped bottom with a back gusset on the post.
