Factory Location of Reverse Lights

Hi there. I was wondering if anyone knows the exact factory location/placement of the reverse lights on a MK2 Tiger. Are there measurements or some other way to pinpoint proper, correct location of these? Thanks in advance.

BON

There are pictures on page 118 of BON, stock options, of part # 2224367 including an installed pair on an Alpine which are (by eye) about 6" inboard of bumper over-riders center and below the bumper. Listed as in 65 / 66 catalog. These look like an exhaust tip with a light in the center?

Was there another catalog? different "option" for MkII? Rectangular? as I have seen on Tigers?

Also consider that "dealer installed" and owner installed items like side mirrors and radio antennae were placed in various positions back in the day.

Anybody have the "mud flaps"? No picture in catalog or BON.

i'm assuming you mean the Wipac rectangular lamps not the spart twin jet style if you are implying you what them correct for a MKII?

Unfortunately, I have never had the pleasure of seeing a copy of the BON -- I wish. Does anyone have a clear picture to post? I just would like to know exactly where the factory installed these.

Michael, yes, I meant the Wipac rectangular lights, which I believe are the only ones ever installed on the MK2 Tiger. I may be wrong about that though. Were the Spart twin jet style ever installed on a MK2 as OEM?

Cheers.

The Sparto's in theory ended in MKI production. The WIPCAS came out during IA's, that said, the Spartos were still available and there were 2 types of sparto bases, ones that mount them to the outside of the rear and ones that are inboard of the over riders, in the same location that the WIPACS go.

Rick,

The WIPACS replaced the Sparto reversing lights for the MKII and SV Alpines, though am sure if you wanted a set you could still install them on a car in period as they were often installed at the dealer.

As for the mudflaps, i have a picture of some somewhere in my old HDD archive.

As pointed out these were dealer installed options. Here is a picture

Hmmm. So the is no factory placement, since these were all dealer installed. OK, roger that. So, does anyone have a picture of the rectangular Wipacs that were dealer installed on a Mk1A or Mk2 when new? I really like the Spartos, but my interest is in Wipacs. Thanks.

I recently asked similar questions on the Tiger List. I cannot find the responses in the Archives, but have some particularly helpful ones still in my e-mail inbox.

If you will PM me with your e-mail address, I will be happy to forward them to you directly.

For both types of the Spartos ther is a correct position. When you buy them they have instructions specific to the Sunbeams and they give exact measurements and diagrams for their mounting. The dealer followed those. So while installed at the dealer the location is consistent.

The WIPACS have a little more leeway due to the way they mount. That said.. am quite sure given the consistency of the mounting of them that there is a "given" location. Also for the many unrestored or lightly maintained cars I have seen they WIPACS are always in the same place.

What about the Lucas L661, That officially followed the Sparto lamps according to the Parts book, didn't it?
