Ford vs. Ferrari

In today's (/4/08/19) Los Angeles Times, it mentioned that Disney is coming out with a movie "Ford v. Ferrari" in November. This movie is about Ford's decision to challenge Ferrari at the 24 Hours of LeMans race and is based on the book "Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari, and Their Battle for Speed", by A.J. Baime. I had read that book and found it very interesting and entertaining. The article goes on to say that Christian Bale plays Ken Miles and Matt Damon stars as Carroll Shelby. This should be a very interesting movie to us Ford-powered vehicles fans.
 
It is a very good book and won the author a motor press guild award. Should make a good movie if they don't "Hollywood-ize" the race scenes.
 
I can also recommend "The Arsenal of Democracy" by the same author. It is an account of how auto industry, particularly Ford, mobilized to produce aircraft for WWII and the dynamics of FDR's and Henry Ford's personalities.
 
For versus Ferrari

Fun fun it just a movie not a documentary !!!

Looking at the trailer again for 10 times , I spotted 2 negligible error , CSX2000 replica use in the trailer have side air vents and rear bumper . The original CSX2000 did not have those !!. Like I said just for fun . Its a movie .

Im guessing some of the production team went.... How can we work ut a way to convince a movie studio to buy us some high spec kirkham 289 reps, maybe a few GT350 clones and a few GT40 reps and perhaps a ferrari 250 rep or two..... I know ford v ferrari drama :-D

I don't think that person in the movie is really Caroll Shelby, either.

Kinda reminds me of the old Andy Granatelli challenge at Indy with brothers Joe & Vince. "They Call Me Mr 500" . Fix it with a bigger hammer so we can race.
 
Just saw the trailer and I like it! I'm excited to see this film on the big screen.
