For years we’ve given this Forum’s maintenance a heavy dose of benign neglect, faithfully following the adage, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” As the song once said, “They say that all good things must end some day.” Well that day is coming soon.

As Theo announced, he has decided it is time to stop deferring the work and start doing it. Some of this is being required due to planned changes with our host’s capabilities. (In the near future, some of our software will no longer work on their server, forcing upgrading)

We know that most projects rarely go perfectly. They are more likely to hit a bump or two. So for the next few months please be aware that something may pop up which could make the Forum look or perform funny or even take it down for a time.

In advance, I’d like to thank you all for your patience. And if down the road you happen to become impatient, please remember that cutting my salary by half gives the same result as doubling it. Same goes for Theo.
(Remember the TV commercial, “In the words of Folger’s founder John J Arbuckle. “You get what you pay for.” ?) (or, how about Johnny Paycheck’s…)

Seriously, if you have any questions you know how to reach me so don’t be shy. But if anyone has expertise at upgrading Forums and wants to help, please don’t be shy! (And this last time, I actually mean it.)
