Hi, I have found holes in the front that have been covered by a new section over the top of the one with the holes. Now I assumed the Tiger had front letters as a Mk1. A Tiger owner in NZ told me his was a late Mk1 and did not have numbers or a specification plate fitted. My Tiger is B9471122LRXFE. Can anyone advise what it had origionally.

I thought that all MKI's had the front letters.. but I'm sure someone else can comment...
As far as the spec plate, I've read that the plate was discontinued 'toward the end' of 947xxxxx production ( MkI's were B9470001 to B9473767 ) ... but the holes ( and rivets ) were still there up until about B382001200 ... at which time they stopped drilling the holes altogether...
My car is B382000446 and has the holes with rivets installed... and no spec plate

Yu are correct about the letters on the front, all MKI Tigers and SIV Alpines have the SUNBEAM, the MKIA and SV alpines delete these.
As for the spec plate again you are correct, they stopped them in the MKI period and left the riverts and then at some point in MKIA production stopped stamping holes.. i dont have TBON handy... but it has it in there.
