Fuel center tube threads?

Probably... but when I took the crossover tube down to my parts store, I found that a SAE ? fitting actually fit a little better. There is no pressure to speak of so a little pipe dope and it seals just fine.
I ended up using an adapter to 3/8" tube and ran that to the fuel pump which now resides in the spare tire well...

I already put my pump there but the crappy canister filter that I bought on Fleabay will not seal. So I was thinking of putting a valve there, just in case I need to work on anything or replace the fuel pump. That way I don't have to drain the tanks............again.

Don't know the thread size as I am using the original but I did put a valve and intake filter for my fuel pump.

I think it is BSPP, British Standard Pipe Parallel, and I thought it was 5/16". A great source of fittings is Hose and Fittings, www.hoseandfittings.com. Lots of options, and located in the US. David

Please excuse the rookie question but is this the OEM install for the Mk2? Looks pretty nice!

The factory fuel pump mounts in that location but the OEM tubing goes straight in and straight out of the fuel pump.

The valve will act as step 1 of my anti-theft system...........

Here is my finished setup with a shutoff valve so I don't have to drain the tanks if/when the fuel pump dies. Also have a spare pump, because you just know it will fail at the worst time or place.

I would have put the filter before the pump.

Filter before pump, stock location?

I would have put the filter before the pump.

Can anyone share how/if they've done this at the stock (under shelf) location. I've seen many with the conversion to spare wheel well, which is a sensical consideration (ez access and further away from exhaust), but I'm less sensical.

I know. I wanted to put the filter first. But the tire well was too shallow to stand the filter up. I almost laid it sideways before the pump but then I was out of room for the pump in the well. I could have made the order: filter, then valve and pump. But then I would have to drain the tanks to change the filter element. Another solution would have been to put the valve right at the center tube where the fuel line attaches. But it would not fit without cutting to make room. I also could have used a short inline filter with a metal mesh screen but that doesn't catch the really small stuff.

Compromise is the key. The motor is the more important element to have the fuel clean for.

I would have put the filter before the pump.

fuel shut off valve

I put a shut off valve under the trunk floor in that little gap under the flap.

I got the valve from Aircraft Spruce. They say it's specifically for fuel but it looks just like a generic brass ball valve.

The valve is pulled out a bit to take the pictures but it tucks in under the flap nicely.

My setup was bugging me so I changed it. Now filter, then pump with shutoff valve under the trunk.
