So in prep for a paint job, I have ordered all new rubber from SS. However, the Furflex they can supply is the fuzzy type and I'd prefer the woven type (Mine is red).

I've tried SS, MacGreggors, CS and a host of others. Am I stuck with the fuzzy? Also the fuzzy seems to all be with a bulb type rubber and not the original "flap type". Is that what you all have been using?

I'm guessing you will have to try the Uk.. i think the jags etc used the furry type furflex as opposed to the more coarse woven fabric type. As for finding one that has the flap type rubber i think you will really struggle.. i have only seen the one with the round rubber attachment from suppliers.

Another thought is to speak to people in the Uk in the humber club.. they might be able to get some off a parts car..

macgregor sells the flap style and SS was selling it. i bought 100 feet of it from macgregor a couple years ago. but it is the fuzzy style. i used it on the red harrington and also on the blue alpine. you can buy different colors. i sent a small piece of the original that i have for him to look at and what martin sells is real close. he also made up a couple sets for my fastback which uses a different style with a bulb and flap.

Well, I guess I'll try MacGreggors again...hopefully they will answer the phone or at least return the call.

since i have a car that will hopefully be painted soon and another waiting, i made a few calls today to check on furflex for the harrington and found that SS is not selling the furflex with the true flap. he is now selling one with a modified tube that fits good. i bought some to see how it fits. the series 4 has some of the tightest gaps and fittings of doors that the shop has ever found on a car so we are curious how it fits.
