Gas leak at Sending Unit

My Tiger gas tank leaks at the sending unit gasket. Removing the tank revealed warped metal under the gasket seal, due to previous owner brazing the seal ring on top of tank. The gasket sealant that was used did not hold up to gas exposure. I have a new sending unit and gasket. Is there a gasket sealant that will fill in minor gaps under the gasket, and hold up to repeated gas exposure? I have ThreeBond 1194 liquid gasket, HondaBond 4 liquid gasket, and Permatex Formagasket 2. Anything better?

Before I devoted the man-hours to a "maybe" long term fix, I would swap out the tank . . . . . . . .

Available in most hardware stores and it works. Not affected by gas, oil, or brake fluid.

I'm with Oneoffive on the this one. There are tanks out there.

Now that I see that gas and oil sealant, think I will put some in the ol' tool box..........just in case. Thanks A-Snake.

Sending Unit gasket leak

Thank you all for the feedback. Since it only takes a couple hours to swap the drivers side tank, I will give the sealant and new gasket a try. The old tank has no rust inside or out, so it is worth a try. In case I change my mind, where is the best source for new or refurbished replacement tanks?
