Looking for a set of MK1 headlight rims. I would be interested in either clip on or the screw on type. Can you help? Maybe some leads?? Thanks

Suggestion to avoid heartache

Actually the clip on rims are later production, all early alpibrs even to siv had screw attachment

Just a suggestion ........... Most convert there "clip-on type" to "screw mount"
so they stay put . Lose one of the clip on ones , only to see it get run over and mangled by the truck behind you will make you cry .

Like Mickey Dolen said ....... "I'm a believer" .

Got em.

Thanks to all. We will have them as a result of the posting. CAT wins again.

Make sure you fit them with retaining screw if the clip on type. Rick has the conversion nut.

I was a clip type for years.....now a screw type after a hefty repair bill and the rings color is off now.

Spot on

I can concur having a clip on headlight ring, rim, or door or whatever you want to call if wing away as you are driving down the road is a bummer.

Rick at S.S. sells the little clip for under a dollar.

Easy to convert the clip on by drilling a hole. I had to buy several pairs to find a set that was not fitted to the car they were on or loaded with bondo.

.02 cents buy a chromed set as what you see is what you get. If you get a bent up set to fix they are very brittle and melt like solder:eek:

Interesting to note when talking headlight rings, I heard or read somewhere that the MK2 style was easier to make and part of the cost cutting program
