Heater control cable routing?

How in the EFF do you get this cable through and into the hole in the firewall? It goes into never never land after the first hole inside the interior compartment. I took the hood latch out and there is a wall separating that area from the heater core. Ugh.........

I believe you will need to poke something like a coat hanger through the holes on both sides, tape the heater control cable end to the coat hanger, and pull it back through the firewall- IIRC- it's been 25years since I last did it...

Two coat hangers or welding rod bent with an open U at one end.
Fish them in, one from engine side, other from inside.
Hook them together and pull them to one side.

Attach cable to wire and pull through.

Wait till you run the vinyl tube for the windshield washer...............
